For a full groom, a week is usually enough. Saturdays and the week before school holidays fill up faster, so two weeks is safer then. Nail trims and quick tidy-ups often fit into the same week if you call in the morning.
Yes, nails are included in a full groom. If your dog only needs nails done, that is a separate short visit and takes about fifteen minutes. Some dogs do better with nails on their own day, away from the bath and dryer.
We go through the coat in the spots ticks settle: behind the ears, under the collar, between the toes and along the belly. We note live ticks, flea dirt and any hot or scabbed patches. It is a check, not a diagnosis, and if something looks like it needs a vet we say so.
We keep the dates from your last visit on file and send a reminder when the next one is due. You still decide what product to use and when. If you would rather track it yourself, tell us and we will leave the reminders off.
A front-clip harness gives you more control on a strong puller than a back-clip one. Bring the dog in and we will fit a few on the spot. Fit matters more than brand, and a harness that shifts sideways will rub.
Some are, some are not, and it depends on how your dog chews. A dog that shreds fabric in minutes needs a different material than one that slowly works a rubber bone. We will point out which toys should not be left alone with a strong chewer.
Measure your puppy stretched out, then add roughly a third for growing room. A bed that is too big can feel exposed, so many owners start with a medium and size up once the dog stops growing. Washable covers save a lot of work in the first year.
